Rangers star will be fuming with Danny Rohl snub, he deserves better than this at Ibrox

Danny Rohl has done an excellent job of uniting Rangers as a club since his appointment.

The Gers endured a shambolic start to the season under Russell Martin, and his abrasive personality was a large contributor to the division and frustration that was clear to see in Govan.

Rohl’s appointment didn’t initially inspire many people at Rangers, but he has quickly begun to win the fanbase over after two impressive Premiership wins this week.

There is already a noticeable increase in positivity since the German walked through the door at Ibrox, but one star certainly won’t be feeling that at the moment.

Findlay Curtis is yet to play a minute under Danny Rohl

Findlay Curtis made a significant impact for Rangers in the early stages of the season, as he produced some big moments for the team.

The Ibrox academy graduate netted a stunner against Panathinaikos in Champions League qualifying back in July, and then rescued a late point for them away at St Mirren in the Premiership in August.

The 19-year-old seemed destined to kick on and have a breakout season in Govan, but it simply hasn’t played out like that for him at all so far.

Curtis quickly became a squad player as the pressure mounted on Martin, and his situation hasn’t changed at all since Rohl stepped through the door.

Virtually every player in the squad has had the chance to impress Rohl during his three games in charge, but the winger is still waiting for his opportunity, after failing to play a single minute across the Brann defeat and the pair of league wins.

He will surely be seething that he has not yet received an opportunity to impress, especially considering there have already been lifelines handed to stars who underperformed for several weeks at the start of the campaign.

Mikey Moore’s promising display at Hibernian on Wednesday will have done little to help Curtis’ cause, and it is clear that he deserves better than the gametime he is receiving at the moment.

Findlay Curtis may have to weigh up loan move away from Rangers

Curtis was linked with a loan move away from Rangers in the latter stages of the summer window, and that may have to be something that he considers in January, if he continues to be snubbed by Rohl.

The wideman attracted interest from clubs elsewhere in the Premiership on that occasion, and there would surely be no shortage of interest in him this winter after what he has proven himself to be capable of.

The starlet is at the stage where he needs regular first-team football, and warming the bench for Rangers or playing for the youth teams won’t cut it for him anymore.

Curtis’ development will be hindered in the long term if Rohl cannot find a regular place for him, and with that in mind, a loan until the end of the season is surely the best course of action.

Rangers could then assess his progress during his time away and make a decision on his level of involvement in the summer.
