Tam McManus gets it wildly wrong with Rangers claim after win vs Hibernian
Tam McManus has been left with egg on his face after his latest comments on Rangers.
Rangers beat Hibernian 1-0 in the Scottish Premiership clash at Easter Road on 29 October, as Danny Rohl continued his great league start.
Danilo’s first-half strike was the difference for Rangers, and they moved to third in the table, five points behind arch-rivals Celtic.
McManus will have been surprised by the result in Edinburgh after what he said before kick-off.

Tam McManus makes pre-match comment about Rangers’ selection vs Hibernian
Rohl made five changes to his Rangers side, for the clash against Hibernian, with the likes of Youssef Chermiti and Max Aarons coming into the team.
Former Hibs striker McManus was shocked when he saw the Gers team sheet and assumed that the hosts would be rubbing their hands together at Rohl’s selections.
Taking to X on 29 October, he said: “Surely give Hibs a massive lift when that team sheet came through the door of the home dressing room!”
McManus looks silly after what he said about Rangers
The 44-year-old has been left looking like a fool after the Gers secured victory against his former side, after what he said before the game.
It was a relatively comfortable night for Rohl’s side, apart from a late penalty, which Jack Butland saved to keep the three points in the visitors’ hands.
- Rangers edged the possession, with 51 per cent to Hibernian’s 49 per cent
- Both sides had seven shots in the contest
- Hibs created 1.87xG compared to the Gers’ 0.48, but that was skewed hugely by the penalty
Those stats do not tell the full story, as the away side hardly looked troubled after they took an early lead, and they deserved the victory.
Rohl has transformed the G51 side, and they are not the same pushovers that they were in the disastrous Russell Martin era.
It is safe to say that it backfired massively, and he will be rightfully teased by Light Blues supporters over the coming days, after his outrageous claim.
He may think twice before commenting on the Govan outfit in future, although he probably will continue to post his opinions, despite getting it so drastically wrong on this occasion.
