Michael Beale sends message to Danny Rohl amid ‘huge’ Rangers verdict

Michael Beale is a polarising figure at Rangers.

Beale worked under Steven Gerrard when Rangers last won the Scottish Premiership, and he was said to be the brains behind the ex-Liverpool man.

However, he struggled when he got his own chance in the Ibrox dugout, lasting just 43 matches before he was sacked in October 2023.

However, it seems like Beale is still keeping up with his former club.

Danny Rohl receives ‘huge’ message from Michael Beale at Rangers

Danny Rohl has had a mixed start to his Rangers reign, with a 3-0 Europa League loss against SK Brann and a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock in the league.

The ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss takes his side to Easter Road to face Hibernian, and Beale has sent a message ahead of the clash.

Taking to his Instagram story on 29 October, Beale said: “Good luck to Danny and the boys tonight.

“Huge week ahead now with brilliant fixtures for the players and the fans.

“Easter Road was always my favourite away ground in Scotland. Always fiesty and open games where we scored plenty of goals.

“They didn’t like us, so it was always nice to win well and have our fans bouncing.”

How have Rangers fared against Hibernian recently?

Rohl faces a huge match so early in his tenure, as the Light Blues need to start climbing up the table, after a miserable start to the campaign.

Russell Martin won just one of his seven league matches in charge, so the German has already matched that.

His side sit fifth in the table, with 12 points, which is five behind Celtic and 13 adrift of surprise league leaders Hearts.

The Gers have a mixed record against Hibs recently, with two wins, two draws and one loss in the last five meetings between the sides.

Beale knows all about the pressure in Govan, and it is a nice touch, that he sent the message to Rohl ahead of the fixture.

The new boss will likely need no warning about how intense Easter Road will be, he will likely have already been aware of that.

However, it is good to see Beale looking out for the 36-year-old and trying to help him achieve success with the G51 outfit.

Rohl needs his players to perform on the pitch, and put him in a position to build on, in the next few weeks.
