Danny Rohl risks Russell Martin repeat as Rangers starting XI confirmed vs Hibernian
Rangers face high-flying Hibernian in the William Hill Premiership in Danny Rohl’s third game in charge.
Rohl’s team have travelled to Easter Road on 29 October, and the German manager will hope to build a winning run at the Gers.
Kilmarnock were beaten at Ibrox on 26 October, and the Light Blues will now be hoping to close the gap with Hearts at the top of the table.
Rohl was quick to make tactical tweaks after losing to Brann in the Europa League, but the former Sheffield Wednesday manager may be making a huge mistake with his starting lineup against Hibs.

Nasser Djiga and Max Aarons in Rangers starting lineup vs Hibernian
Rohl has made five changes to his starting lineup, with Nasser Djiga and Max Aarons likely replacing James Tavernier and Djeidi Gassama in the starting lineup against Hibernian.
Djiga and Aarons’ consistently poor performances were one of the reasons Martin didn’t survive long at Ibrox, and the German manager is repeating the same mistake.
Connor Barron, Mikey Moore and Youssef Chermiti have also made their way into the team in place of Mohamed Diomande, Thelo Aasgaard and Bojan Miovski.
Hibs have won their last two league matches, scoring six goals in total, and they will undoubtedly fancy themselves against the Light Blues’ backline.
Derek Cornelius has hinted at a mentality shift under Rohl, which is a damning verdict on Martin’s time in G51, but the German manager still has a long way to go before proving he isn’t just another EFL Championship manager who can’t cut it in Scotland.
The Glaswegian outfit have conceded 30 goals this season, and that’s one area the ex-Owls boss must address.
Brendan Rodgers resignation give Danny Rohl something to think about at Ibrox
Brendan Rodgers resigned from Celtic out of nowhere, with Dermot Desmond hitting out at the Northern Irish manager.
Rangers have now been presented with an opportunity to take advantage of the apparent crisis at Parkhead, with Martin O’Neill handed the interim charge.
| Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goals conceded |
| 16 | 8 | 4 | 4 | 16 |
The Gers are five points behind their Old Firm rivals in the league table and have an important Premier Sports Cup semi-final tie coming up against them.
If the Light Blues can beat Hibernian and get the better of Celtic at Hampden on 2 November, then the season will certainly start to look much better at Ibrox.
