Djeidi Gassama now looks over shoulder as Danny Rohl confirms Rangers team news vs Hibernian

Djeidi Gassama can have no complaints if he’s dropped from the starting lineup as Rangers face Hibernian on Wednesday.

Danny Rohl’s team will travel to Easter Road on 29 October in the William Hill Premiership, with the Gers coming off a positive result.

Gassama was a passenger at Ibrox against Kilmarnock, being substituted for Max Aarons around the hour mark as the German manager changed the shape of the team.

With the back-three of James Tavernier, John Souttar and Derek Cornelius working well against Killie, the former Sheffield Wednesday manager should look to continue with the same and make a change on the right-wing.

Oliver Antman to replace Djeidi Gassama in Rangers starting XI vs Hibernian

Danny Rohl has confirmed that Oliver Antman is available to face Hibernian after missing the game against Kilmarnock.

With the German manager confirming that the 24-year-old is ready to return to action at Easter Road, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him come straight into the starting lineup.

Gassama looked like a fish out of water playing on the right at Ibrox, and he will now undoubtedly be looking over his shoulder as the former Sheffield Wednesday boss can rely on the Finland international.

In the 62 minutes the 22-year-old Frenchman played at Ibrox in the 3-1 win on 26 October, he attempted one cross which wasn’t accurate, had one shot blocked, lost possession five times, was dribbled past once and lost 50 per cent of his ground duels, as per Sofascore.

Antman may be better suited to Rohl’s new system at the Gers, primarily playing on the right-wing for Go Ahead Eagles last season before moving to G51 in the summer.

In the previous campaign, the Finland international had 15 assists in the league, created 16 big chances, completed 65.5% of his long balls and 22.2% of his crosses, as per Sofascore.

Danny Rohl to make another attacking change vs Hibernian

Bojan Miovski has been underwhelming since moving to Ibrox from Girona, with the North Macedonia international failing to replicate the form he showed at Aberdeen.

Youssef Chermiti scored his first goal for Rangers against Kilmarnock, and the Portugal Under-21 international will be hoping to kickstart his career in Govan now.

The 21-year-old has had a tough time in recent years due to recurring fitness issues, and his £8million price tag from Everton hasn’t gone down well with fans in G51.

It would make sense to start Chermiti and give him minutes to build on his display at Ibrox, and Rohl should trust the young striker over Miovski.
