Barry Ferguson slams Youssef Chermiti after what he has just done at Rangers
Rangers secured their first home win in the Scottish Premiership after defeating Kilmarnock 3-1 on Sunday.
Goals from Derek Cornelius, Danilo, and Youssef Chermiti have lifted the Bears into fifth place despite not winning any of their first five league matches.
Danny Rohl’s first match in charge ended in a 3-0 defeat to Brann, yet the win at Ibrox against Kilmarnock showed clear signs of progress as Rangers look to turn around their disastrous start to the season.
Chermiti finally scored his first goal for the Bears, yet he has still drawn criticism from former Gers manager Barry Ferguson.

Youssef Chermiti hits back at fans with goal celebration
With Rangers leading 2-1, the Portuguese striker hit a swerving shot that goalkeeper Eddie Beach failed to deal with to give the Bears some breathing space in the match.
However, Chermiti celebrated by mimicking a talking gesture to hit back at all the fans and pundits who have criticised his performances in recent years.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 27 October, Ferguson was not impressed with Chermiti’s actions at Ibrox.
He said: “Listen, you’ve scored your first goal, go and celebrate with the fans, and get back in your formation. I know he’s had a tough start, but be happy that you’ve hit the back of the net.”
Celtic legend Peter Grant added: “You’re getting a lot of criticism, so the one group of people you don’t criticise is your own supporters.”
Whilst Chermiti has been subjected to abuse throughout the last few months, it doesn’t look great to see him making these gestures towards the fans.
Chermiti joined Rangers for a fee of £8million, with add-ons taking the deal up to £10m.
Kevin Thelwell was heavily scrutinised for paying such an extortionate fee for a striker who hadn’t scored a senior goal in over two years.
Supporters won’t care how Chermiti celebrates if he goes on to be a major success, yet he still has an incredibly long way to go after just scoring his first for the club.
Another key talking point from the match was Danilo’s inclusion in the starting lineup.
Danilo’s emergence under Danny Rohl will give Youssef Chermiti motivation
Danilo was hardly used by Russell Martin, yet Rohl has instantly placed faith in the Brazilian forward to deliver the goals for Rangers.
Chermiti was left relatively unchallenged when it came to starting in the Europa League, despite not playing at the level required.
Not only can Danilo’s return spur Chermiti to improve his overall play, but Rohl’s use of two strikers against Kilmarnock showcases that both players will regularly gain minutes.
Bears fans should be excited for what’s to come in the future, and Chermiti now has the perfect opportunity to stamp his authority on the Rangers team with a string of promising displays.
