Rangers star has saved his Ibrox career under Danny Rohl after brilliant display vs Kilmarnock
Rangers secured their first Premiership home win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock on Sunday.
The Gers produced an excellent response to their 3-0 hammering away at Brann in the Europa League, as they pulled away from their visitors in the second half.
A header from Derek Cornelius got Rangers up and running in the early stages, before goals from Danilo and Youssef Chermiti secured the three points in the second half.
There were plenty of encouraging signs for Danny Rohl throughout the afternoon, and he will have been delighted with how this star took the opportunity that was handed to him.

Mohamed Diomande has given himself a lifeline at Rangers
Mohamed Diomande has had a difficult start for Rangers this season, despite plenty of positive performances last term.
He would likely have found himself on the chopping block in the January transfer window as a result, but his showing against Kilmarnock will have pushed him right into the forefront of Rohl’s plans.
The German made a big decision to recall the Ivorian to the starting XI at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon, and his faith in the midfielder was repaid with a brilliant display.
- Diomande won two tackles and made two interceptions – more than any other player on the pitch
- He also used the ball effectively, completing 86% of his passes
- The Ivorian also played one key pass during his 62 minutes of action
The 23-year-old was everywhere for the Gers during their victory, as he covered every blade of grass with an energetic display in the middle of the park.
Diomande worked tirelessly without the ball, as he won two tackles and four duels, while also completing three recoveries.

He was at the heart of everything good about the Govan outfit’s performance, and he may well have just saved his career at Ibrox with his display.
Mohamed Diomande example must inspire Rangers teammates
Diomande’s resurgence at Rangers should serve as the perfect example to the rest of the squad as to what they can achieve if they continue to work hard.
The midfielder’s future at Ibrox looked bleak prior to Rohl’s arrival, but he will surely have now forced his way back into the picture with his latest Premiership display.
Diomande’s example should inspire the likes of Mikey Moore and Emmanuel Fernandez, who have fallen to the fringes of the squad recently, to continue pushing to try and force their way into Rohl’s plans.
The arrival of a new manager is sure to provide everybody with the opportunity to impress at some stage, and Diomande is certainly a man who has seized his chance.
