‘For those who don’t know James Tavernier, let me tell you something about Rangers captain’
James Tavernier was right after Rangers were disgraced against Brann in the Europa League on Thursday.
Danny Rohl lost his first game in charge at Brann Stadion 3-0, and the German manager will undoubtedly realise the task at hand in G51.
Tavernier’s post-match comments in Norway didn’t go down well with some Ibrox faithful, and while his assessment of the Gers’ performance was accurate, he’s been a part of that for several seasons now.
With tensions high at the Glaswegian outfit, the captain needs to do more, but he may be misunderstood in Govan.

Barry Ferguson wants Rangers squad to feel pain of James Tavernier
Tavernier is someone who wants to see the Gers succeed, Barry Ferguson says.
The Light Blues’ former interim manager believes the Englishman cares deeply about the club’s prospects and the fans at Ibrox.
Ferguson feels the 33-year-old right-back’s frustration was evident as he slammed the Glaswegian outfit’s display against Brann.
The Gers icon wrote in the Daily Record on 25 October: “For those of you who don’t know him, let me tell you that he does care deeply about this club and its fans. He’s desperate to bring success back to the club, and I really think you got a sense of that from the passion of his words in his interview.”

Ferguson added: “He’s frustrated about the way things are going — but it’s not enough for just a handful of players to feel that pain and disappointment. It has to be shared collectively.”
Tavernier also had a standoff with the Union Bears after the 2-2 draw against Dundee United on 18 October, but supporters want to see that passion on the pitch during the 90 minutes.
Danny Rohl to make James Tavernier change at Ibrox
Kilmarnock travel to Ibrox on 26 October, and Rohl will certainly look to make changes to his starting lineup after how some of the players performed in Norway.
Rangers have looked devoid of creativity up front, and their defensive frailties have haunted them throughout the campaign.

While Tavernier provides an attacking threat, the right-back is often caught out of position, and the German manager should look to bring in more protection to the Glaswegian outfit’s backline.
The Englishman should either be deployed as a wing-back or in the midfield, and Rohl showed during his days at Sheffield Wednesday that he’s flexible with his tactics and formations.
