What Danny Rohl told Rangers fans at airport as he’s confronted by huge crowd after loss vs Brann
Danny Rohl’s reign as Rangers manager could not have got off to a worse start on Thursday night.
Rangers are now bottom of the Europa League table after losing 3-0 to SK Brann away in Norway thanks to goals by Emil Kornvig, Jacob Sorensen and Noah Holm.
After the game, James Tavernier dubbed Rangers’ performance “disgraceful” while Rohl felt compelled to walk across the pitch to apologise to supporters in the away end.
Those supporters then chanted Rohl’s name as the German walked away, but that wasn’t the only interaction he had with the Gers faithful in Norway.

Danny Rohl apologises again and asks one thing of Rangers fans
Details of Rohl’s discussion with the Rangers fans have been revealed by Ibrox fan media outlet Four Lads Had A Dream.
Chris Sutton has already mocked Rohl since the heavy Gers defeat in Norway, but the former Sheffield Wednesday manager has already done a lot to win over supporters with his glaring honesty.
Ultimately, this isn’t his crop of players; it’s a squad that’s seen way too many incompetent hands put it together – and he’s now having to deal with the fallout of all that.
It is understood that Rohl, however, told fans that he’s identified the issues in the squad and when confronted by fans at Bergen Airport, he “asked for a chance to fix it”.
Of course, Rohl once again apologised to those who’d made the journey to Scandinavia for such an inept performance.
But how does Rohl fix it?
One thing Rohl told Rangers fans was that he needs patience from them in order to fix the issues that he’s inherited from Russell Martin.
The problem is that we’re approaching November, and after hosting Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Sunday, the Light Blues have a huge triple-header against Hibernian, Celtic and Roma.
| Opponent | Competition | Venue | Date |
| Kilmarnock | Scottish Premiership | Ibrox | 26 October |
| Hibernian | Scottish Premiership | Easter Road | 29 October |
| Celtic | Premier Sports Cup | Hampden Park | 2 November |
| Roma | Europa League | Ibrox | 6 November |
| Dundee | Scottish Premiership | Dens Park | 9 November |
As much as Rangers probably aren’t expected to beat Roma, there’ll be a lot of pressure on Rohl to win the other four games before the international break comes around.
He’s got to beat Kilmarnock to stop the rot in the league. he’s got to beat Hibs to stop them pulling further away. And he’s obviously got to beat Celtic in the semi-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.
How does Rohl fix so many huge problems in such a short space of time? He’s not got a full week to work with the full squad on the training ground until the week starting 15 December.
