‘Kevin Thelwell has just said something at Rangers I’ve never heard before – This is serious’
Kevin Thelwell appears to be public enemy number one at Rangers right now already.
After Russell Martin’s failed appointment and sacking, Patrick Stewart also took some heat from those around Ibrox, who are not happy with those in charge yet again.
The former Everton chief also tried to defend the Rangers appointment of Robbie Thelwell, which certainly hasn’t gone down well in Govan.
Thelwell senior said his son would be working “25/8”, which went down like a lead balloon in the media.

Kevin Thelwell called out after embarrassing himself at Rangers
James McFadden was reacting to the unveiling of Rohl, but it was those above him who took centre-stage, with Thelwell joking about the appointment of his son.
Speaking live on BBC Sportsound on 23 October, the former Scotland star couldn’t actually believe what he was listening to from the press conference at Rangers.
“It wouldn’t fill me with huge confidence, listening to Kevin Thelwell trying to explain away everything,” he said.
“In terms of the 25/8 thing, I’ve never heard that before in my life. I just thought, it’s not the time to be smart, it’s not the time to crack jokes, this is serious.

“Rangers fans have been unhappy since the start of the season.”
What did Kevin Thelwell say about Danny Rohl?
The purpose of the press conference was mainly to unveil Rohl at Rangers.
It says a lot that most of the heat was on Thelwell, who was questioned on several mistakes already, only months after actually arriving in Glasgow.
Youssef Chermiti started for Rangers against Brann on Thursday, and Thelwell backed him fully when quizzed on spending so much money on the Portuguese star, who flopped in Norway yet again.
Back to Rohl, though, and the sporting director was asked who would have control over transfers, something that became a real concern under Martin.
“I think it’s very important that you are close and you work together in one direction because it makes no sense when one part goes in this direction and the other part goes in this direction,” he said.
This needs to be turned into reality, and the sooner more positive work emerges and impacts results in the right way, the sooner Thelwell will be seen in a better light.
