Alan Brazil in ‘absolute shock’ after what he saw – ‘If you’re a Rangers fan…’
Alan Brazil doesn’t understand how Rangers fans could sit through 90 minutes of their team’s 3-0 defeat to SK Brann in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Danny Rohl took charge of his first game as Rangers manager in Norway, but could do little to stop the rot that set in well before his arrival.
Rohl was left apologising to Rangers fans at the airport before the German flew back to Scotland, while Kevin Thelwell faced heaps of abuse in Norway.
The Light Blues’ defeat to Brann leaves them bottom of the Europa League table after three games, highlighting just how big a job that Rohl has at turning the tide after Russell Martin’s dismal spell in charge.

Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour react to Rangers defeat on talkSPORT
Thursday night wasn’t exactly a great advert for Scottish football.
Celtic had to come from behind to beat Sturm Graz at Parkhead in the Europa League, while Aberdeen lost 6-0 away to AEK Athens in the Europa Conference League.
Rangers mustered just one shot on target in their defeat to Brann, as per Sofascore, with Youssef Chermiti missing a big chance to score his first goal for the club early on.
It means that the two European competitions that Scottish sides feature in both have a Scottish side bottom of the pile with zero points.

When Celtic-mad Brazil and ex-Arsenal player Ray Parlour talked through the European results on Thursday, Brazil couldn’t hide just how bad he thought Rangers performed against Brann, a team they were widely expected to beat.
“Oh dear, Rangers. Now that is an absolute shock,” said Brazil on talkSPORT on Friday morning.
“It’s a big job. You’re not going to judge Danny Rohl yet. He’s got the same players and he’s got to get his idea over,” Parlour replied.
Brazil added: “There was only going to be one winner – and it wasn’t Rangers.”
“If you’re a Rangers fan, I’m not sure how you would have watched 90 minutes.”
Things are only going to get worse for Rangers
Rangers, who qualified as a Pot 1 team for the league phase, have so far lost to Genk, Sturm Graz and Brann in the Europa League.
On UEFA’s coefficients, they are the three easiest games that Rangers were meant to have had.
| Home | Away | |
| Pot 1 | Roma | Porto |
| Pot 2 | Braga | Ferencvaros |
| Pot 3 | Ludogorets | Sturm Graz |
| Pot 4 | Genk | Brann |
So that means that Rohl still has to take his team away to Porto and to Ferencvaros, while Ibrox is yet to host Roma, Braga and Ludogorets.
If you look at those remaining five games, you could maybe see one or two of them being slightly winnable.
There’s very little chance now that the Gers finish in the top 24 to go to the knock-out phase play-offs.
