Keith Jackson calls out ‘shambles’ on Rangers website about Danny Rohl

Rangers are looking to get back to winning ways after appointing Danny Rohl as their new manager.

After Andrew Cavenagh led a drawn-out process of replacing Russell Martin, the Gers finally landed on the former Sheffield Wednesday head coach.

Rohl is already at a disadvantage at Ibrox, with many fans wanting either Steven Gerrard or Kevin Muscat to take charge on G51 after they were being heavily linked with the job.

The German boss may have a lot of work to do to get fans back onside, and while the Glaswegian outfit are sending the right messages, they may have gone overboard with a few things.

Rangers slammed for posting Danny Rohl’s brown brogues

Keith Jackson isn’t pleased to see the Gers posting the pictures of Rohl’s brown brogues on their official website.

The Daily Record journalist called the move a “shambles”, with the decision-makers at Ibrox likely trying too hard to appease supporters.

While Rohl brought back the tradition of wearing a suit that Russell Martin trampled, which Jackson gave him credit for, the picture of the brown brogues was a bit too much.

Speaking on Hotline Live on 22 October, the journalist said: “I think on Rangers’ official website today, there was actually a picture of his brown brogues. So, as much as I’m giving him credit for doing that and being quite clever, what’s that? What are they doing? It’s a shambles.”

Martin wore trainers during his unveiling at Ibrox, which was undoubtedly the first of many mistakes he made in Govan.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager isn’t trying to displease the Gers supporters before taking charge of his first game, and he certainly made the right choice.

Danny Rohl concerns will remain at Ibrox

Rohl is considered the second coming of Martin due to perceived similarities in their footballing philosophies, but that may be far from the truth.

Rangers now have a manager who worked under extreme pressure at Sheffield Wednesday and repaired the club’s relationship with its supporters.

Since the German manager’s departure, the Owls have struggled massively, with Dejphon Chansiri’s mismanagement reaching new heights.

Martin was too rigid in his approach to the game, something Rohl isn’t, as witnessed with the different formations he deployed during his short spell at Hillsborough, but fans won’t be convinced by the ex-Championship manager unless he turns the tide in G51.
