Alex Neil speaks out on Rangers manager developments after ‘interesting’ British investment
Rangers have become a huge talking point after their recent managerial hunt.
Rangers sacked Russell Martin earlier this month after a run of shocking performances and results at Ibrox.
It looked as if Steven Gerrard would replace him at Rangers, but the Englishman went on to turn down a return to Govan.
Kevin Muscat followed suit before Rangers brought in Danny Rohl at the third attempt to lead the Gers into the rest of the season.
Alex Neil has spoken out on this situation as outside investment looks set to have a dramatic say on the Scottish Premiership title race.

Alex Neil reacts to Rangers manager hire after investment
Rohl is already under pressure at Rangers, such are the demands of supporters and the board in G51.
The German could be the man to turn things around at Ibrox after doing a superb job in the eye of the storm at Sheffield Wednesday.
His hire has brought to an end a laughable situation which saw the Light Blues go from manager target to manager target with very little conviction.
The only saving grace for the Bears is that Celtic are having a rough time themselves, having lost to Dundee last time out at Dens Park.
Millwall boss Neil spoke out on 22 October via talkSPORT about the negativity surrounding Rangers and Celtic, before adding his intrigue about Hearts, who currently sit top.
He said: “Both of the big clubs [Rangers and Celtic] seem restless at the moment, whether that be the board being an issue or the management situation.
“Hearts have got the investment now from Tony Bloom, so it will be interesting to see how that situation pans out across the season.“
Neil would have been an excellent Rangers manager
The Gers are in desperate need of a head coach who won’t stand for anything less than high standards from his players.
The 44-year-old has had a difficult spell with Stoke City, but outside of that, he has been very consistent in improving teams.
This led to the Scot being promoted to the Premier League with Norwich City and to the Championship with Sunderland.
He is now thriving at Millwall and looks like a strong contender for promotion at The Den after a largely positive start to the campaign.
Club | Year(s) | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
Millwall | 2024-present | 40 | 21 | 6 | 13 |
Stoke City | 2022-2023 | 65 | 22 | 12 | 31 |
Sunderland | 2022 | 25 | 12 | 9 | 4 |
Preston | 2017-2021 | 191 | 73 | 46 | 72 |
Norwich City | 2015-2017 | 108 | 45 | 21 | 42 |
Given how excellent Neil seems to be at turning the tide wherever he goes, he could have been an excellent option for Rangers.
Rohl is the chosen man, but further down the line, if things don’t go to plan, they could go wronger than bringing in the former Hamilton man.
