The two stars who played for both Rangers and Brann – Big-money signing and Scotland international
Rangers have had a major boost of positivity heading into their Europa League clash with SK Brann on Thursday night.
Danny Rohl’s appointment put an end to a painfully long managerial search at Ibrox.
Nobody knew the saga that would unfold after Russell Martin’s sacking, but everyone in the Rangers vicinity is now pleased it’s done, and the Bears can move forward with Rohl.
Ahead of Rangers’ showdown with Brann, Ibrox News takes a look at two players that fans may not have known played for both Gers and the Norwegian side.

Rangers record signing Tore Andre Flo played for Brann
Tore Andre Flo arrived as a huge signing for the Gers back in 2000. The deal set Rangers back £12m when joining from Chelsea, according to Sky Sports, a club and Scottish record fee at the time.
On his Rangers debut, he scored in a 5‑1 Old Firm victory over Celtic at Ibrox, which will never be forgotten.
The Norwegian striker was a huge hit in Glasgow, scoring a total of 38 times while at the Gers, but he also had success for Rangers opponents on Thursday night.
- Flo scored 35 goals for Brann in their 1996-97 season
- In his last home game for Brann, Flo grabbed a hat-trick
- Flo also represented Norway 76 times on an international level

Flo certainly lived up to his price tag, but another Rangers man who didn’t cost a penny, also later went onto play for Brann.
Ex-Rangers attacker Charlie Miller also played for Brann
There was also attacking midfielder Charlie Miller, who came through the ranks at Rangers, and later made the move to Brann.
Miller was one of Rangers’ best academy graduates ever seen, as he played for the Gers from 1993 all the way until 1999.
Team | Appearances | Goals |
Rangers | 116 | 16 |
Brann | 59 | 15 |
The Scot helped Rangers to multiple pieces of silverware, including a stunning four Scottish Premier Division titles, while at Ibrox.
Rangers shared the joy of a magnificent duo with Brann, but it won’t be a friendly affair on Thursday night.
