Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart in attendance as new Rangers press conference now confirmed

Danny Rohl is set to take charge of his first Rangers match against SK Brann on Thursday.

Rohl was announced as Rangers manager on Monday, with the 36-year-old’s appointment sparking mixed reactions from Bears fans.

Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart have faced criticism for their disastrous decision-making that led to Russell Martin’s sacking at Rangers.

A press conference has now been scheduled on Tuesday, where Thelwell and Stewart will be in attendance.

Rangers hierarchy set to attend press conference scheduled at 3:30pm on Tuesday

Rohl is looking to turn around Rangers’ abysmal start to the season, with the Europa League clash in Norway providing the perfect opportunity for him to get off on the right foot with Light Blues fans.

Alongside Thelwell and Stewart, Rohl and Andrew Cavenagh will also be in attendance as the German manager is unveiled to the media, Four Lads Had a Dream confirmed on X.

There are doubts over Rohl’s managerial record, with his only senior coaching experience coming in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday.

This does mirror the decision to appoint Martin, who similarly had no experience coaching in such a demanding environment.

Thelwell’s relationship with Rangers fans is incredibly weak following his reckless spending on unproven players in the summer transfer window.

As for Stewart, the CEO is also facing scrutiny for his role in the events that led to Martin’s dismissal.

Both men will be praying that Rohl can get off to a winning start, so that pressure can be eased off their own backs.

The unanimous consensus amongst Gers fans is that the hunt for a new manager could not have transpired in a worse way.

The Rangers manager saga shows the incompetence of the board

Rohl was not the first choice for the role, yet failed negotiations with both Steven Gerrard and Kevin Muscat highlighted the lack of decisiveness.

It speaks volumes that Thelwell, Stewart, and Cavenagh identified two different managers, and it resulted in both saying no to the opportunity to manage at Ibrox.

Rangers fans are becoming disillusioned with what’s happening in Govan, and Rohl has an almighty task on his hands to turn the season around.

In the case of Thelwell and Stewart, hiring Rohl is their last chance to prove to Bears supporters why they remain fit to make decisions at G51.
