‘This is why managers are saying no to Rangers’ after incredible new reveal from Ibrox
Rangers have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons as Kevin Muscat and Steven Gerrard have turned down a chance to manage them.
Russell Martin was sacked by the Gers after dropping points against Falkirk on 5 October, but since then, Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe have failed to find a replacement.
Gerrard ruled his return out at Ibrox, with the Liverpool icon feeling the current project at the Light Blues wasn’t right for him.
Then, Muscat was in pole position to succeed Martin, and the American owners will have some explaining to do about why the vacancy in G51 isn’t being filled.

Rangers may not have money to spend in January
Gabby Agbonlahor feels various managers have turned down Rangers as they weren’t promised reinforcements in January.
With both Gerrard and Muscat leaving the negotiating table after talks with the Light Blues’ hierarchy, there could potentially be an issue with the finances at Ibrox.
Jeff Stelling believes the Glaswegian outfit possibly have no money to spend, with the club unable to attract players on high salaries due to the current market.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 20 October, Agbonlahor said: “Why are they turning it down? Why did Gerrard turn it down? Why did Danny Rohl turn it down? Why is Muscat turning it down? Something is happening in these conversations.”
The former Aston Villa striker added: “Maybe they’re telling these managers you can’t spend any money in January. You can’t fix it. And they’re looking at Rangers in the league now and thinking, ‘Do I want to touch that?'”
Stelling responded: “I think there’s no money. What the bigger issue is, there’s no money in terms of salaries. The salaries that are being paid at the moment is incredibly low. So you can’t attract the players.”
Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe risk another fan mutiny at Ibrox
It looks like Rohl is set to take charge at Ibrox, with Cavenagh keen to sign off on his appointment in the coming days.
Steven Smith is the interim manager at Rangers for now and has been granted an exemption to take charge of the team for the Europa League tie against Brann on 23 October, but it remains to be seen whether the German manager will arrive before then.

Many fans in G51 wanted to see either Gerrard or Martin take the reins at the Gers, with the former Sheffield Wednesday manager not the most popular candidate.
The supporters saw how Russell Martin fared with his modern footballing ideas, and a similar fate may await Rohl, which will certainly be another blot on the American ownership.
