Rangers face being rejected by Danny Rohl for second time as news emerges out of English Championship
Rangers have renewed talks to hire Danny Rohl after failing to hire Kevin Muscat.
Andrew Cavenagh has set up a meeting with Rohl this week as he desperately tries to end the Gers’ lengthy search for Russell Martin‘s permanent successor.
Martin was sacked by Rangers over two weeks ago and had an entire international break to replace him before their 2-2 draw with Dundee United at Ibrox on Saturday.
Between Martin’s exit and now, Rangers have been rejected by Steven Gerrard, Rohl and Kevin Muscat, who walked away from talks on Sunday.
Rohl removed himself from contention last week when it looked as though the job was all but Muscat’s.
And although the ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss is now back in the running again, things could prove tricky yet again for struggling Rangers.

Norwich City threaten to gatecrash Rangers’ new talks for Danny Rohl hire
Norwich dropped down to 20th in the English Championship at the weekend as they suffered a third consecutive defeat against Bristol City.
Liam Manning was only hired by the Canaries in June but it looks as though a 3-0 loss against his former side Bristol City at Carrow Road could be the final nail in the coffin for the former Ipswich midfielder.
Journalist Graeme Bailey now claims via his personal X account that Rohl is in contention to replace Manning, should he be sacked.
It is understood that Norwich are “ready to part ways” with Manning, with their options to replace him being Stoke City’s Mark Robins, Gary O’Neil and Rangers-linked Rohl.
Rangers face ultimate embarrassment as manager farce continues
There was a lot of excitement in the summer when Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe became owners of Rangers.
However, it’s fair to say that the first few months of their tenure have been outright farcical.
Everyone seemed to know that Martin was going to be a poor managerial appointment, and even though he was a dead man walking for weeks, it took an age for the owners to admit they got it wrong and pull the trigger.
Gerrard, Rohl and Muscat have all walked away from talks now and going back to Rohl just seems a bit pathetic.
What could be worse is if Rohl rejects Rangers again to take a job at Championship strugglers Norwich.
