Jim White dismisses Rangers concerns after Sheffield Wednesday fan’s Danny Rohl verdict live on air

Rangers fans aren’t too happy about former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl potentially being appointed as the next manager.

After a long, drawn-out process at the Gers, Andrew Cavenag and Paraag Marathe have finally found a replacement for Russell Martin, with the search now into its third week.

Rohl seems to be on his way to Ibrox, but supporters were anticipating either Steven Gerrard or Kevin Muscat’s arrival in G51 to turn things around.

With the Glaswegian outfit failing to get their seemingly first-choice options to succeed Martin, there may be a silver lining in it at Govan.

Danny Rohl to get best out of Rangers squad

Jim White questioned the Gers fans’ concerns around Rohl after what a Sheffield Wednesday supporter told him.

Steve, who supports the Owls, gave a glowing review of the German head coach, claiming he’s the sort of person who can unite the Light Blues and the Ibrox faithful.

The Sheffield Wednesday supporter also believes that if the 36-year-old head coach was able to get the best out of the players at Hillsborough, then there’s no reason he can’t do the same at the Glaswegian outfit.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 20 October, White reacted: “That sounds good. Steve is a Sheffield Wednesday fan, saying Rohl is the kind of guy who gets the best out of every single player. If that’s the case, what’s the problem?”

The Owls were in a bit of a crisis when Rohl took over, struggling in the EFL Championship’s relegation zone.

Despite the apparent financial issues under Dejphon Chansiri, the German head coach changed the prospects at Hillsborough and finished 12th in his second season before eventually stepping down in the summer.

Danny Rohl faces scary prospect as strong Ibrox start needed

Rohl is already on the back foot before being appointed at Ibrox, with fans anticipating Gerrard and then Muscat’s arrival.

It’s clear that the German head coach wasn’t the first choice at Rangers, with the owners and supporters wanting other candidates ahead of him.

Now that the former Sheffield Wednesday boss is on his way to Govan, the Ibrox faithful will have to back him for the foreseeable future.

However, tensions in G51 are sky high after what was witnessed under Martin, and things may go downhill quickly for Rohl if he doesn’t get off to a strong start.
