Chris Sutton mocks Rangers as Ibrox drama continues on pitch vs Dundee United

Chris Sutton can’t help but take a shot at Rangers whenever misfortune strikes at Ibrox.

The Gers faced Dundee United in the William Hill Premiership on 18 October, and the hosts dropped more points in the league.

Thelo Aasgaard scored the opener at Ibrox in the first half, with the captain finding the back of the net for the equaliser in the 87th minute.

The Glaswegian outfit went into the break with a one-goal advantage, but two brilliant strikes from Jim Goodwin’s team denied Steven Smith a perfect start as the interim head coach.

Chris Sutton takes seven-word jab after Rangers draw vs Dundee United

Russell Martin’s sacking seemed to have had a positive impact on the team in the first half, with an air of confidence among the players and more in the final third.

Fans have rarely enjoyed the Gers play at Ibrox this season, but the home crowd clapped the team down the tunnel at the break, in what was a rare sight.

Supporters wouldn’t have imagined the Glaswegian outfit to crumble in the manner that they did in the second half, but that should’ve been expected considering how they’ve performed recently.

Sutton wrote on X after the 2-2 draw: “Good point for Rangers in the end.”

Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe risk alienating the fans further if they can’t get a deal over the line for Kevin Muscat at Ibrox soon.

The Shanghai Port manager wants to arrive after 22 November, when the Chinese Super League season ends, but that could potentially leave the Light Blues in a volatile position for the coming weeks.

Celtic struggles not being exploited at Ibrox

Celtic have left the door open in the William Hill Premiership, with Brendan Rodgers’ team not performing at their peak, but the Gers have failed to take advantage.

Despite all the issues at Rangers, their Old Firm rivals have also seen fan unrest at Parkhead derail their season a bit.

Instead of exploiting the uneasiness at the Hoops, the Light Blues have allowed Hearts to be title challengers in the current campaign.

The 2025-26 season may have been perfect for a new manager at Ibrox, but Martin failed miserably and has left them in a humiliating situation.
