Findlay Curtis has perfect chance to impress Kevin Muscat after Rangers managerial development
Findlay Curtis could be set to receive a massive opportunity to impress Kevin Muscat before he has even arrived at Rangers.
The Australian boss is on the verge of being appointed as the Gers’ new manager, with the Ibrox managerial search finally set to draw to a close imminently.
Muscat has already agreed to join Rangers, and all that remains now is for the club to officially announce him as the latest man to take the reins.
The 52-year-old looks set to be named as Russell Martin’s successor within the next couple of days, and he will surely be keeping a close eye on proceedings against Dundee United on Saturday.

Findlay Curtis likely to start under Steven Smith vs Dundee United
Rangers will be led by Steven Smith for their clash with Dundee United this weekend, as the U19 boss has stepped up to take interim charge of the first team.
The academy man looks set to provide a temporary solution for the Gers, as Neil McCann is likely to step into the dugout once Muscat’s appointment is confirmed, until the main man can take charge at the end of the Chinese season.
Smith’s involvement with the first team could easily see the starting XI look very different this weekend, and one man who could be about to benefit is Findlay Curtis.
- Curtis scored crucial goals against Panathinaikos and St Mirren at the start of the season
- He has since played just 35 minutes of Premiership football all season
- He hasn’t started a game since the away leg against Panathinaikos on 30 July
The young winger can count himself unlucky considering the lack of gametime he has received in recent weeks, given the emphatic impact that he made in the early stages of the campaign.

Smith’s presence in the academy setup will mean that he will have been acutely aware of the homegrown starlet as he rose through the ranks in Govan, and as a result, he will surely be desperate to get him into the team this weekend.
Findlay Curtis deserves to be ahead of Mikey Moore at Rangers
Mikey Moore’s presence at Rangers has been a source of plenty of controversy of late, given the way that he has struggled since coming into the club.
The Tottenham loanee arrived as a hugely exciting prospect, and simply hasn’t lived up to expectations so far, although he has kept Curtis largely out of the team.
That has understandably prompted frustration from Rangers fans, who would rather see one of their own academy prospects be handed the opportunity to shine, rather than a young loanee from another club who is clearly struggling.
Curtis has proved that he deserves to be above Moore in the pecking order through his performances alone, and the quicker that he can prove that to Muscat, the more likely he is to get a regular starting spot moving forward.
The Australian will surely be watching Saturday’s game, and if the youngster does get given his perfect chance, then he must take it with both hands.
