Rangers seek special UEFA dispensation for new Ibrox arrival as ‘vibes’ detailed

Rangers finally look like sorting their off-field issues, with help from UEFA.

Rangers have been fraught with constant chaos this season, and that has seen them sitting in eighth place in the Scottish Premiership.

Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises, the Gers’ principal owners, have overseen a painful transition into Scottish football.

However, things may seem brighter soon, with European football’s governing body involved in the recruitment process at Ibrox.

Rangers seek UEFA dispensation to appoint Kevin Muscat

Kevin Muscat is in line to become the new Rangers boss, after a deal was agreed to bring the ex-Gers star to Govan.

However, David Edgar, who runs the Heart and Hand podcast, reported on 16 October that the Light Blues have to sort special dispensation from UEFA as he achieved his coaching badges outside of Europe.

He states that the vibes that are emerging from all parties are positive, but it is not done until all the details are sorted out.

It is understood that a potential announcement could come after Friday, as Muscat‘s Shanghai Port are in action.

Rangers could be in further trouble by the time that Muscat arrives

Muscat is set to finish the campaign with his side in China before he makes the move to G51 to manage the Bears.

His side are top of the Chinese Super League by two points with just four matches left to play, and he wants to see it out and potentially win a second successive title.

That could see the Gers fall even further behind Hearts and Celtic in the league, before he arrives to potentially turn things around.

The ownership cannot be blamed as they have acted quickly to replace Russell Martin, with the deal for Muscat coming just 11 days after the ex-Southampton man was handed his marching orders.

Hopefully, Muscat can turn it around, but given the delay in his potential arrival, it does not seem too promising for the Bears’ prospects of winning the title.
