Rangers have one obstacle left as Kevin Muscat deal agreed at Ibrox
Kevin Muscat looks primed to take over at Rangers in the next few days.
Muscat has been the leading candidate for Rangers since Steven Gerrard pulled out of the race, citing the timing as an issue.
Danny Rohl was another Rangers contender, but he withdrew from proceedings, leaving the door open for the ex-Bears star.
Now, it appears that Muscat is just one step away from becoming the new manager at Ibrox.

Rangers reach Kevin Muscat agreement, just one step to go
Rangers’ search for Russell Martin’s successor looks to be nearing a conclusion, just 11 days after he was sacked.
A report from the Daily Record on 16 October claims that the Gers have now agreed a deal with Muscat.
It states that the Ibrox outfit have reached a broad agreement over a long-term contract with the Australian.
The Light Blues are now understood to be in talks with Shanghai Port over a compensation fee for the 52-year-old, which seems to be the only obstacle.

His record with the Chinese side has been impressive, as shown by the Sofascore graphic above.

49ers have to be given credit for Muscat appointment speed
If all goes well, Muscat should be announced as the new Gers boss in the coming days, but he will not step into the role straight away.
He wants to finish the Chinese Super League season, with his side leading the title race by two points with four matches remaining.
That would mean that he would not be ready to take over in Govan until 22 November, with an interim boss in place until he arrives.
- Muscat has already won the league once in China
- His side play Qingdao Hainiu, Shandong Taishan, Zhejiang Professional and Dalian Yingbo in the remaining league matches
- He would be expected to move to Rangers for the Europa League clash with Braga on 27 November
However, that is not the 49ers Enterprises group or Andrew Cavenagh’s fault, and they should be given credit for how quickly they have found a new boss.
They were slow to sack Martin, and his appointment was a shambles for many supporters, but they have surely got some back on board with their decisiveness this time around.
