Rangers set for healthy profit with Nicolas Raskin transfer to Tottenham

Rangers may be forced to sell Nicolas Raskin if Tottenham come knocking in the upcoming transfer windows.

The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best players in Scotland after some influential displays in recent months.

Raskin was linked with a move away from Ibrox in the summer, but he ended up staying at the Gers, who are now looking for a new manager.

Kevin Muscat looks like the leading candidate to replace Russell Martin, but the incoming head coach could potentially have to soon make plans that don’t involve the Belgium international.

Nicolas Raskin exit from Rangers likely amid Tottenham interest

Tottenham are keeping tabs on Raskin, whose current contract at the Gers expires in 2027, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet reports on 15 October that the Light Blues should make a “healthy profit” on the midfielder, whom they signed at Ibrox for £1.75million from Standard Liege in January 2023.

It’s been claimed that the Glaswegian outfit will likely have to cash in on the Belgian national next summer after his heroics on the international stage.

Unless Raskin’s contract at Ibrox is extended, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Gers accept a decent offer for him from the likes of Spurs.

The former Standard Liege star scored his first goal for the Red Devils in the 6-0 win over Kazakhstan on 7 September and has established himself as a key player under Rudi Garcia.

Against North Macedonia and Wales in the recent international break, the Belgium international once again received plaudits for his performances.

Nicolas Raskin fallout beginning of the end for Russell Martin

Martin seemed to have a falling out with Raskin at Ibrox, with the midfielder left out of games against Celtic and Hearts in the William Hill Premiership.

Rangers didn’t have the best of spells under the Scottish manager, resulting in him lasting just 123 days in the dugout.

The former Southampton boss was unable to bring the best out of most players at the Light Blues, which also affected Raskin, who was constantly played out of position.

Supporters in G51 will hope whoever the next manager is will be able to get the best out of the Belgian national at the Glaswegian outfit and turn the tide after a poor start to the season.
