Danny Rohl may jump back into pole position after Kevin Muscat latest at Rangers
Danny Rohl and Kevin Muscat continue to lead the race to become the new Rangers manager.
Neil McCann was spotted in Glasgow this week, leading to further speculation that the Australian is putting a team together to replace Russell Martin.
Rohl is also closely associated with Rangers after talks, yet fans are slightly sceptical of his inexperience in management.
However, new developments may see Muscat’s dream of managing Rangers hit, leaving Rohl with a clear path to the job.

Kevin Muscat in title race with Shanghai Port until November
Muscat is in charge of Shanghai Port, who have a two-point lead at the top of the Chinese Super League.
The Chinese Super League has just four games remaining, yet the season doesn’t finish until 22 November, making negotiations difficult.
Rangers fans can watch Muscat’s side in action on Friday as Shanghai Port take on Qingdao Hainiu at 11:00 am GMT.
The Scottish Sun has reported on 14 October that Rohl may resume pole position in the race due to Muscat’s commitments with Shanghai Port.
Rohl | Stat | Muscat |
89 | Games managed | 422 |
34 | Wins | 225 |
21 | Draws | 81 |
34 | Losses | 116 |
38.20 | Win percentage | 53.32 |
Muscat would be a fan favourite in Govan, due to his previous affiliation with Rangers.
Muscat spent the 2002-03 season at Ibrox, whilst also playing across the UK at Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Millwall, and would jump at the job if offered.
It is reported that if Andrew Cavenagh decides he can’t afford to delay matters, then Rohl would be straight back into pole position for an immediate hire.

Whilst Muscat would be the choice of most Light Blues supporters at this moment, there are no guarantees that he could work wonders with this squad.
Kevin Muscat is a risky appointment for Rangers
Like all managers, there are pros and cons to the appointment of Muscat.
Not only does he have significantly less experience at a high level compared to other candidates, such as Gerrard, Derek McInnes, or Sean Dyche, but his style of football could also be concerning.
Whilst Rangers would love to have a coach who plays high pressing football, his defensive record at Shanghai Port is similar to Martin’s numbers this season.
His side have conceded 38 goals in 26 league matches, and if Rangers want to achieve greater defensive stability, then Muscat might not be the smartest appointment.
However, it is undeniable that he has achieved success in his managerial career, and he would certainly be afforded more time than Martin.
