Rangers set up more manager talks in next hours after Danny Rohl development

Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe are yet to jot down who they want as the next Rangers manager.

Danny Rohl has been linked with a move to Ibrox after Steven Gerrard snubbed an opportunity to return to the Gers.

As things stand, Steven Smith may be in the dugout against Dundee United on 18 October, with the Light Blues scrambling for a new head coach.

More talks regarding the Ibrox vacancy are set in the coming hours, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds at the Glaswegian outfit.

Danny Rohl leading candidate as Rangers to talk to other managers

Other candidates will be spoken to for the managerial post at the Gers in the next 48 hours, according to the Daily Record.

The news outlet reported on 13 October that while Rohl is at the top of the Light Blues’ shortlist, more talks are planned at Ibrox.

Cavenagh and Marathe were unable to convince Gerrard, leaving the American owners with a massive decision to make, as fans in G51 were ready for the Liverpool icon’s arrival.

It will be interesting to see who the Glaswegian outfit decide to go with and whether the next manager will be in place before the Dundee United fixture.

Rohl’s credentials are being questioned by many among the Gers’ support, with the 36-year-old head coach bound to feel the pressure immediately.

There are doubts about whether the former Sheffield Wednesday manager will be able to handle the expectations in G51, considering his lack of experience as a first-team head coach.

Rangers shouldn’t be in this situation, as it’s long been known that Russell Martin’s sacking was inevitable.
