Ally McCoist makes Derek McInnes pitch live on air after Rangers manager latest
Rangers are still searching for their next manager to replace Russell Martin.
Steven Gerrard dropped out of the race over the weekend after failing to agree terms with Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe.
Danny Rohl is a leading candidate for the Rangers’ job, yet fans are sceptical of his ability to manage under such scrutiny.
Derek McInnes is also linked with Rangers, and Ally McCoist has delivered his verdict on whether he would be a good fit at Ibrox after all these years.

Ally McCoist backs Derek McInnes to succeed at Rangers
McInnes is currently managing Hearts, who sit top of the Scottish Premiership after a fantastic start to the season.
Rangers lost 2-0 to Hearts at Ibrox in September, with McInnes’ direct style of play catching out the Bears numerous times.

Speaking live on talkSPORT on 13 October, McCoist expressed that McInnes would be the smartest appointment that Cavenagh could now make.
He said: “There’s no manager who knows Scottish football better than McInnes. They need someone in the club who gets it, who knows what it’s about.
“I’m talking about someone who knows the values of the club, and someone who the supporters can relate to.”

Having managed at four different clubs in Scotland, his expertise at this level shines above all of the other candidates.
Whilst he may not have a flashier CV than other managerial candidates, it’s undeniable that he is the best Scot that the Light Blues could appoint.
Martin did not understand what it meant to lead Rangers to success, yet McInnes could be the one to implement that belief in the squad.
McInnes has built a strong squad at Hearts, and his success managing Lawrence Shankland this season shows that he knows how to get the best out of a top striker.
Bojan Miovski could thrive under Derek McInnes
Miovski is a proven goalscorer at this level, having enjoyed great success whilst at Aberdeen.
With two goals in his first seven matches for the Bears, he struggled to gain momentum under Martin, as he rotated with Youssef Chermiti in the Europa League.
With Miovski lacking speed, he possesses similar traits to Shankland, and his poacher-like instincts would be used to the fullest extent under McInnes.
Whether McInnes would leave a successful project under Tony Bloom at Hearts is the big question, yet it is undeniable that he will be financially backed to build his squad around the 26-year-old.
Should McInnes be appointed, Miovski could be the biggest beneficiary.
