Rangers news round-up – Danny Rohl update emerges as new announcement made

Rangers are hitting all of the headlines across Scotland this week.

Having won just one of their first seven league games and sacking Russell Martin in the process, Rangers are the club on everyone’s lips at the moment.

Whether that be in Scotland or England, everyone is talking about the turmoil that the Light Blues are in as their hunt for a manager goes on.

With that in mind, Ibrox News rounds up some of the latest stories to have emerged from Glasgow over the last 24 hours.

Nicolas Raskin hailed for Belgium showing

Nicolas Raskin had a tough time at Rangers under Martin, often finding himself exiled from the matchday squad.

However, those in the stands at Ibrox have always been well aware of the quality possessed by the midfielder, and it was on full display for Belgium.

Belgian outlet DH Les Sports described the Rangers star as a “little pit bull who won all his duels again

Elsewhere, Raskin was described as “a rare bright spot, showcasing the influence he had for his country despite their goalless draw with North Macedonia.

Rangers make new Connor Barron announcement

With Raskin clearly not getting along with Martin, Connor Barron often took his place in the Rangers’ midfield.

While the Light Blues have been dreadful as a whole, Barron’s displays saw him emerge with credit more often than not, and that earned him recognition.

Rangers announced that Barron had been called up to the Scotland squad for their clash with Belarus on Sunday afternoon.

His inclusion comes off the back of Lewis Ferguson receiving a yellow card in their last outing, resulting in his suspension for their next clash.

Danny Rohl update emerges at Ibrox

Rangers’ search for their next manager is still ongoing, though the candidate list seems to be getting shorter.

On that list seem to be Steven Gerrard and Danny Rohl, though the update on Saturday afternoon was in regard to the latter.

Sky Sports reported that Ibrox chiefs have been “impressed” with Rohl, who remains in the running to take over at Ibrox.

Rohl was linked with the job before Martin took charge last summer, but remained at Sheffield Wednesday.

The German is now without a club after leaving The Owls, and Rangers are still considering him for the job.
