Rangers manager saga takes another twist amid Kevin Muscat claim

Kevin Muscat is one of the candidates to take over at Rangers.

Muscat has been linked with the Rangers job previously, but Russell Martin was appointed in the summer.

However, his reign was dismal, and now the 49ers Enterprises group and Andrew Cavenagh are searching for a new boss after just 17 matches.

Steven Gerrard seems to be the prime candidate for Rangers, but they are also reportedly interviewing other options, in case a reunion with the Liverpudlian does not work out.

Four Lads respond to Kevin Muscat interview claim at Rangers

Muscat is one of the Rangers’ alternatives, who has been reported to be in competition with Gerrard for the role.

Four Lads Had A Dream responded to a supporter on X on 11 October, who asked whether there was any truth in claims that Muscat had been interviewed on Monday.

The Gers podcast dismissed those reports in a new twist to the saga, simply replying “no” to the question.

Why Muscat would be an interesting appointment at Rangers

Muscat would not bring the same hype as Gerrard would if he was appointed, but he would be a solid choice.

He has history with the Gers, winning three trophies as a player in Govan, and he has forged a brilliant managerial career since.

If the claim is true and he has not been interviewed, that does not necessarily mean that he is not in contention for the role.

There could still be talks scheduled with the Australian further down the line, as there are still plenty of twists left before the new man is in the dugout.

Once he is, whoever, the board end up choosing, they need support from the fans to get the Bears back to where they belong.
