Slaven Bilic’s case put to Rangers in ‘shock’ twist as well-connected Ibrox deal broker gets involved
Salven Bilic could potentially be making his way to Rangers after Russell Martin was sacked on Sunday.
Martin failed to win against Falkirk on 5 October, leading to his inevitable dismissal at the Gers after what has been a disastrous start to the season in G51.
The Scottish manager’s sacking has been on the cards for several weeks now, with fans protesting for a change in the dugout for a considerable period.
Andrew Cavenagh will want to take the reins of appointing a new manager at Ibrox after the former Southampton boss’ abysmal spell at the Glaswegian outfit, and the ex-West Ham head coach has emerged as a candidate.

Rangers recommended Slaven Bilic, most available candidate
Bilic’s name has been put forward by a prominent figure in football with connections to the Gers, according to Alan Nixon.
The journalist revealed on his Patreon on 7 October that the Croatian manager would be open to taking the job at Ibrox after recently being close to returning to West Ham, who sacked Graham Potter.
It’s been claimed that the 57-year-old is a “shock contender” at the Light Blues, seemingly being the more available option compared to other candidates.

Steven Gerrard doesn’t have the best view of the current squad at Ibrox, and his potential tax issues may be a stumbling block.
Kevin Muscat, Sean Dyche and Frank Lampard are also reportedly in the running for the Gers’ hot seat, but it remains to be seen who Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises go with next.
Frank Lampard flying high at Coventry City
Lampard has been mooted for a role in the Ibrox dugout since Phillipe Clement’s sacking, and it isn’t surprising to see him being linked with the Light Blues.
The Chelsea icon has done wonders at Coventry City since joining them in 2024, leading the Sky Blues to the EFL Championship play-offs semi-finals in the previous campaign.

Currently, the West Midlands outfit are top of the league table, going unbeaten in the first nine matches.
It feels unlikely that Lampard would want to leave Coventry for Ibrox right now, but Cavenagh should try.
