‘Russell Martin must do this after what Rangers fans did to him in Austria vs Sturm Graz’

Rangers face Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday as travelling fans make their voices heard.

Russell Martin faced Jurgen Saumel on 2 October in Merkur-Arena as the Scottish manager continues to feel the heat at the Gers after a poor start to the season.

The former Southampton boss seems to be fighting for his job at the Light Blues after winning just five of his opening 15 games since being appointed in G51.

Fans have held protests against Martin outside Ibrox in recent weeks, calling for his dismissal, and supporters continue to ask for a change in the dugout.

Rangers wins needed under Russell Martin

All Martin can do right now is win games as long as he’s the Gers manager, Tom English says.

Travelling supporters at Merkur-Arena once again targeted the Scottish manager, but he can’t let that get to him.

If the 39-year-old head coach is determined to keep his job at Ibrox, all he can do is focus on beating every one of the Glaswegian outfit’s upcoming opponents.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound on 2 October at 19:58, English said: “That’s the only thing Martin can focus on. There’s no point in him trying to let the fans get him down. He’s just got to be incredibly strong and produce win after win after win and see where that takes them.”

Russell Martin should be sacked if Sturm Graz win

Martin is villain number one for the Ibrox faithful at the moment, with the Scottish manager’s sacking seemingly inevitable in G51.

The former Southampton boss isn’t popular among the Gers supporters, and the decision-makers could potentially be forced into making a change if Sturm Graz win.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Austrian outfit get the three points against the Light Blues, considering the woeful form the Glaswegian outfit have been in.

Rangers fans will take aim at Andrew Cavenagh if he lets Martin continue to fail despite clear signs that he isn’t fit to lead at Ibrox, and fans will hope a resolution can be found sooner rather than later.
