Rangers player ratings vs Sturm Graz – Djeidi Gassama superb, two teammates should be ashamed
Rangers failed to make a valiant comeback against Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday.
Russell Martin’s team travelled to Merkur-Arena on 2 October, with the likes of Youssef Chermiti and Thelo Aasgaard starting for the Gers.
Jurgen Saumel’s team found themselves two goals ahead at Merkur Arena as the hosts were in the driving seat in the opening 45 minutes.
Djeidi Gassama’s goal just after the break was what the Glaswegian outfit needed, but despite several opportunities, it wasn’t meant to be for Martin and his team.

John Souttar and Derek Cornelius disastrous in Sturm Graz vs Rangers
John Souttar and Derek Cornelius let their teammates down as the Gers made life difficult for themselves early on.
Sturm Graz’s opener came after a throw-in for the Light Blues, with the centre-back pairing all over the place during that moment.
The Austrian outfit continued to put pressure on the Glaswegian outfit’s backline, who had a hard time dealing with the constant fury of attacks.
Saumel’s team’s second goal came after the Gers set up a high line for Sturm Graz’s free-kick in the 35th minute, and Souttar, being the leader in the defence, should’ve set it up better.

Djeidi Gassama pulls strings vs Sturm Graz
Gassama was arguably the Gers’ best player at the Merkur-Arena as he got a goal back in the 49th minute to give Martin some hope.
The Light Blues signed 13 new players at Ibrox in the summer, and the former Sheffield Wednesday star has certainly been the best of the bunch.

Now Martin will be under even more pressure at Ibrox as the Glaswegian outfit continue to disappoint their fans.
Andrew Cavenagh has a massive decision to make at Rangers, and the Scottish manager’s dismissal now seems inevitable.
