Russell Martin slammed for what he has done with Mikey Moore at Rangers already
Rangers signed 14 players in the summer transfer window as Russell Martin looked to rebuild the squad at Ibrox.
Kevin Thelwell has already come under scrutiny for some of the fees paid for unproven players.
With many of the new arrivals failing to adapt to life at Ibrox, such as Mikey Moore, Martin is now fighting for his job.
It has seen some homegrown talent frozen out by Martin in favour of summer signings who haven’t performed well since joining the Bears.

Russell Martin blasted for favouring Mikey Moore over Findlay Curtis
Findlay Curtis has risen through the Rangers ranks at astonishing speed and started this season brilliantly.
Speaking on the Daily Record Hotline Live on 29 September, Daniel Caw has questioned Curtis’ lack of involvement in recent weeks.
He said: “Why are they developing Mikey Moore instead of Curtis, who was brilliant at the start of the season?”
Keith Jackson added: “You’ve got a young kid that plays wide, scores goals, and looks as if he might be a really exciting homegrown prospect, and you play a young boy from Spurs ahead of him.
“Curtis is familiar with the environment and understands what it means to play for Rangers.”
The 18-year-old started the season on fire and scored crucial goals against St. Mirren, Alloa Athletic, and Panathinaikos.
However, he hasn’t started a match since the Champions League playoff second-leg draw against Panathinaikos in July.
- Rangers B (2023/24) – two appearances
- Rangers B (2024/25) – five appearances
- Rangers (2024/25) – five appearances
- Rangers (2025/26) – nine appearances
Curtis has a bright future ahead of him, but currently, he is being left out of the team by Moore and Oliver Antman.
Martin must balance the minutes of all his young stars, but especially when Moore is not at Rangers permanently, it raises the question of why Curtis has rarely been brought off the bench in recent matches.
Mikey Moore struggling at Rangers
The 18-year-old has been tipped to be a generational talent for Spurs, yet Moore has had a tough start at Rangers.
He has started six games for Rangers this season, yet Antman took his place for the 2-1 win over Livingston.
The vociferous nature of Ibrox has played a part on Moore, with this campaign being the first of his career where he is starting games consistently.
Martin has mismanaged the young star’s development in the first few months, and he shouldn’t be over-reliant on the Tottenham loanee.
With Antman inconsistent and Moore struggling, Curtis will be wondering what he has to do to earn a consistent run of games again.
