Clinton Nsiala’s plea set to be heard as rare Rangers opening emerges
Rangers made 14 additions to their squad in the summer transfer window to challenge rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season
This left a host of players with an uncertain future in Govan, including French defender Clinton Nsiala.
Rangers have struggled defensively this season, with fellow youngsters Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga performing miserably at Ibrox.
Nsiala nearly left Rangers for a move to Belgium in search of game time, yet the move never materialised.
However, his opportunity under Russell Martin may come now, following recent developments in Sunday’s win over Livingston.

Jayden Meghoma injury scare could pave way for Clinton Nsiala
Meghoma was substituted in the 82nd minute of Rangers’ 2-1 win over Livingston, and the Light Blues lack many options at left-back.
Whilst the severity of Meghoma’s injury is not yet known, this could be the perfect opportunity for Nsiala to showcase his ability for the Bears, with the 21-year-old rarely featuring last season.

Nsiala joined Rangers on a pre-contract agreement ahead of the 2024/25 season from the AC Milan youth setup.
Nsiala posted a cryptic message on Instagram saying he was ‘still here’ when referring to his lack of game time at Rangers.
He has yet to make a matchday squad under Martin this season, and Thursday’s Europa League clash against Sturm Graz could provide the perfect opportunity to be involved.

Clinton Nsiala must be given a chance over Emmanuel Fernandez
Nsiala has not been given a sniff under Martin, yet he must be given the chance to prove himself.
Whilst a lot is riding on the Europa League tie in Graz, it’s the perfect opportunity for Rangers to give minutes to certain squad players.
Emmanuel Fernandez might be deployed there on Thursday night, yet his performances for Rangers so far have been nothing short of atrocious.
Should Martin pick him over Nsiala, then it would speak volumes about the French defender’s future.
Martin has placed plenty of faith in youngsters this season, and Nsiala should be the latest talent to showcase his ability for Rangers.
