Russell Martin problems mount as Rangers player takes clear swipe on social media
Rangers have experienced a terrible start to the season, picking up just one win in the Scottish Premiership so far.
Rangers fans heckled Russell Martin after their 2-1 win away at Livingston on Sunday, with goals from James Tavernier and Max Aarons securing all three points.
Rangers enjoyed 65 per cent possession, creating four big chances with seven shots on target.
Captain James Tavernier missed a penalty in the first half, which looked as though it would be costly before Aaron’s 94th-minute winner.
Ultimately, though, Martin remains a man under deep pressure despite the victory – and his problems may well be mounting.

Rangers outcast Clinton Nsiala takes Russell Martin dig on social media
Clinton Nsiala has struggled for minutes at Rangers since Martin came on board.
The centre-half played a total of 13 games last season, registering one goal and an assist during these appearances.
The 21-year-old is yet to be named in a matchday squad this season and has been forced to train with the Under-19 squad.
Nsiala has now taken to Instagram to declare he is “still here”, posting the message alongside a series of images including a cartoon of himself in a Rangers kit.
This can be seen as a dig at Martin, with Nsiala making it clear his absence from the side is through no reason of his own.
Rangers made signings of Emmanuel Fernandez, Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius in the summer, all of whom have made it all the more difficult for Nsiala to get back in the squad.
- Nsiala joined Rangers on a pre-contract agreement ahead of the 2024/25 season
- Made 13 appearances in all competitions for Rangers
- Registered one goal and one assist last season

Rangers simply must win Europa League tie vs Sturm Graz
Rangers face Sturm Graz away from home on Thursday in a must-win game for Russell Martin.
Martin’s side will be confident coming into this fixture after a win last time out and should travel home with three points, their first in the Europa League this season.
Rangers fell short in their first league stage game with a 1-0 loss at home to Genk, where they went down to 10 men courtesy of Mohamed Diomande.
Rangers will have to defend better away from home after conceding six big chances and 18 shots on goal, including a penalty saved by Jack Butland.
