Russell Martin brutally heckled by Livingston fans as Rangers sack looms
Russell Martin was ridiculed by Livingston fans during their clash with Rangers on Sunday afternoon.
Max Aarons netted a crucial stoppage-time winner for the Gers, as they eventually struggled their way to a 2-1 victory in Almondvale.
Martin’s future at Rangers has been coming under constant scrutiny of late, and it has been suggested that anything other than a win at The Home of the Set Fare Arena would have been the final nail in the coffin for him.
The Gers faithful have long since lost patience with the 39-year-old, who was ridiculed yet again during the draw at Livingston.

Livingston fans sing ‘One Russell Martin chant’ during Rangers draw
Martin’s Rangers side produced a dominant first-half display, but their performance in the second period almost cost them the game.
The home side gradually turned the tide of the game after the half-time interval, and few could begrudge them the equaliser that they eventually secured midway through the second half.
The visitors could arguably count themselves lucky to have salvaged something from the game, as they produced a smash-and-grab moment in the dying embers of the game.
Nevertheless, Rangers fans made their grievances towards Martin clear prior to their winner at Almondvale, with chants of “sacked in the morning.”
The Gers boss was also subject to brutal heckling from the home supporters, who chanted “One Russell Martin” in the minutes following their side’s equaliser, according to BBC Scotland’s Kheredine Idessane (28 September 4:31pm).

Russell Martin cannot survive irrespective of Livingston win
It has felt like a matter of time before Rangers sack Martin for several games now, and although the board have stood by him so far, they surely have to be nearing their final straw.
The Gers are simply miles away from being a team who are capable of competing for the Premiership title, and the fact that they are now being consistently ridiculed by opposing fans should tell the hierarchy everything that they need to know.
Martin’s appointment has been an ill-fated decision from the very beginning, and Rangers need to accept that they made a huge error, rather than continuing to persist with him and damaging their campaign even further.
They may have survived a huge scare against Livingston on Sunday, but it was arguably more than they deserved, and it was yet another sign that Martin’s position should be untenable, regardless of the victory.
