Russell Martin urged to fine Rangers player after ‘crazy’ Ibrox scenes
Rangers fell to another disappointing defeat at Ibrox as they were beaten by Genk in the Europa League.
Russell Martin is facing increased pressure as Rangers continue to falter on all fronts, with his side now failing to score in four of their last five games.
There were several controversial refereeing decisions against Rangers in the defeat to Genk, but Martin cannot hide behind these anymore as his side were well below par again.
However, Martin may be particularly furious with one of his players, and may have a right to dish out a fine for what he did in the home defeat.

This article contains exclusive opinion from former Rangers star Derek Ferguson.
Rangers could fine Mohamed Diomande after red card
Mohamed Diomande was handed a straight red card in the first half for a reckless tackle, and this cost his team dearly as they had to battle with 10 men for an hour.
While the Gers may have been harshly done by over two penalty calls, Rangers could have no complaints over Diomande as he lunged in recklessly with his studs up.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, former Rangers star Derek Ferguson slammed the midfielder and urged Martin to fine him for letting the team down.
“He let his teammates down, it’s as simple as that,” Ferguson stated of Diomande.

“The lunge was crazy, right in front of the referee. It’s a lack of discipline and pure stupidity.
“If I’m the manager, then I’m fining him. The way things are at the moment, pretty horrendous, you can’t be conducting yourself like that. He’s been poor this season.”

Mohamed Diomande struggling under Russell Martin
Martin is struggling to get the best out of his squad, and Diomande’s drop-off in form under his management has been particularly noticeable.
Diomande has been a crucial player in recent seasons, but he is having a poor campaign and was at fault as Lawrence Shankland scored in the defeat against Hearts.
While he brings a lot of energy to the middle of the park, Diomande has been caught sleeping defensively on several occasions, and this tackle was a brainless moment from him.
A different manager could get Diomande back to his best, but there remains a concern that a player who has impressed a lot in the past currently looks a shadow of himself.
