Alan Brazil slams ‘out of order’ incident he saw in Rangers defeat v Genk
Russell Martin continues to face extreme scrutiny over his position as Rangers manager.
After failing to win any of their opening five league matches, Rangers continued their poor form in the Europa League against Genk.
Former Celtic striker, Oh Hyeon-gyu, was the difference between the two sides as his 55th-minute strike secured the 1-0 win for his team.
The night was only worsened for the hosts as Mohamed Diomande was sent off for Rangers before half-time.

Alan Brazil lambasts Diomande for silly challenge
Russell Martin has faced criticism at Rangers for his style of play, with his side only managing to win one game in all competitions.
Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour discussed Thursday’s loss on talkSPORT, and the ex-Scotland international – and noted Celtic fan – was not impressed with Diomande’s antics.
He said: “To rub salt in the wounds, Rangers’ Mohamed Diomande was sent off for a rash challenge just before half-time.
“I’ve no problem with that, I’ve seen the challenge and it was out of order.”
The loss against Genk meant Rangers now only have one win from seven games.

Martin at the point of no return
Rangers supporters are voting with their feet when it comes to Russell Martin.
Under 38,000 spectators attended Rangers’ opening Europa League clash, which left Ibrox looking shockingly dull on a European night.
Between now and 26 October, the Gers have one match out of five at home, with two of the upcoming ties to be played in Europe.
Date | Opponent | Venue |
28 Sep | Livingston | A |
2 Oct | SK Sturm Graz | A |
5 Oct | Falkirk | A |
18 Oct | Dundee Utd | H |
23 Oct | SK Brann | A |
The next five games will seal Russell Martin’s future, and based on their current form, as well as the current atmosphere around the club, the road back to stability is extremely difficult.
But Rangers will take some confidence ahead of Sunday’s clash with Livingston, as the Glasgow side has only lost twice against their hosts in the Scottish Premier League.
