Russell Martin recalled Nicolas Raskin to Rangers’ starting line-up against Hibernian and was instantly rewarded.
Martin has bizarrely overlooked Raskin for selection in recent weeks, but he was back in the starting XI at Ibrox on Saturday for the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final clash.
Raskin needed little time to make his impact felt as he flicked in a header to give Rangers a 1-0 lead shortly before half-time.
The Belgian then played a part in Bojan Miovski’s strike as the Gers took a two-goal lead into the interval.

Martin Boyle thought he had given Hibs the lead at Ibrox, but the goal was disallowed for handball.
The atmosphere inside Ibrox was toxic as Rangers fans protested against Patrick Stewart and Martin, and things did not improve until Raskin’s breakthrough moment.
The Belgium international took his opportunity brilliantly, helping to lift some of the gloom with that goal and his part in Miovski’s strike.
The game was broadcast live on Premier Sports and the TV cameras immediately cut to Martin after Raskin’s goal.
Martin could be seen spurring on his players in a ‘keep going’ motion with his hands.
While his face may not have shown it, Martin was clearly a hugely relieved man thanks to Raskin.
