Rangers contact made as Russell Martin replacement update emerges, club stance revealed
Russell Martin may be just days from the sack at Rangers as he faces immense pressure, and replacements may already be on the radar.
If the coach is dismissed in the coming weeks, Martin will become the shortest-serving permanent Rangers manager in history, but after a winless start in the league, his sacking would be justified.
Rangers fans are already speculating over who could replace him, with Davide Ancelotti now touted as an option in case he leaves Botafogo.
The Rangers hierarchy have backed Martin so far, but this stance may now be changing as there has been a new update.

Managers make contact with Rangers over replacing Russell Martin
The Daily Record have now reported that the Rangers board have received contact from several managers interested in replacing Martin, after his disastrous start.
It is claimed that several “top” coaches are still keen on the job at Ibrox, but as it stands, the club are publicly backing their manager.
Conversations have been in one direction, with coaches expressing interest, but Rangers not seeking anyone out or in discussions with any candidate just yet.

Protests have been organised as Rangers will face Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final, and a defeat will surely see Martin sacked regardless of how much he has been backed, and one of these “ready-made replacements” could be brought in.

Rangers have managerial options to pick from
There are several experienced free agents whom Rangers can pick from to replace Martin instantly, without needing to pay any sort of release fee.
Steven Gerrard is an obvious candidate, as the last manager to win Rangers the Scottish Premiership title, and would join as a proven winner and a figure who can command respect in the dressing room.
Sean Dyche is also available, and would join as a proven coach who can add grit and defensive steel to a team desperately lacking in both.
There is no need to stick with Martin given these other options, and the Rangers owners must now act quickly to stop the damage before it gets even worse.
