Andrew Cavenagh can be swayed into Russell Martin sack once he sees what Rangers fans are doing vs Hibernian
Rangers will face Hibernian in their next game at Ibrox, and the atmosphere is set to be nothing short of toxic.
The Union Bears have organised a protest demanding that Russell Martin and Patrick Stewart are removed from their roles, and a lot of tickets are still available as fans vote with their feet.
Rangers have had their worst start to a season in 47 years under Martin, and it is clear that the manager was clearly a wrong fit for the club from the very beginning.
Chairman Andrew Cavenagh is set to attend the game as he heads to Glasgow from San Francisco, and this could be decisive in Martin’s future.

Rangers fans could get Russell Martin sacked
Cavenagh was not at Ibrox when Martin was heavily booed by the entire home support after their defeat to Hearts, but he will be there first-hand to see the protests.
The Rangers Fan Advisory Board held a meeting with members of the hierarchy, but they were adamant that they will continue to back Martin, despite the fans making it clear that they do not.
The fallout from this may only increase the aggression in the protests, and the Scottish Sun has now reported that Cavenagh will “take full control of the situation,” but his mind could be changed by events on Saturday.

It is claimed that even if Rangers win, if Cavenagh sees a half-empty stadium with angry supporters protesting outside, he could bow down to fan sentiment, and he is well aware of their feelings towards Martin and Stewart.

Rangers fans need to back Union Bears protest
The wider Rangers fanbase and the Union Bears have had their differences in the past, but if there is to be any progress at the club, then the group will need support.
If the fanbase joins the Union Bears on their protest, and also stays away from the match in protest, it would send a very strong message that what is normally a divided fanbase is united against Martin.
However, if the stadium is full against Hibs, and the protest does not receive any support from other fans, it may not be enough to spark Rangers into action in sacking Martin, a decision every supporter wants to see.
