Jim White in total agreement after what Simon Jordan’s told him about next Rangers manager

Russell Martin’s future continues to look bleak at Rangers.

Rangers are winless in the Scottish Premiership, and have a crucial match against Hibs in the Premier Sports Cup on the horizon.

Martin remains unwanted by Rangers fans, who have had enough of his possession-based style of play.

But with Martin seemingly on the brink of the sack, it begs the question of who would replace him in the Ibrox dugout.

Simon Jordan suggests Rangers job is not attractive for top managers

Speaking on talkSPORT on 16 September, Simon Jordan made a claim that not many managers would be available if Martin were to be sacked.

He said: “There isn’t a queue of great managers around the world that want to manage Rangers.”

In response to that, Jim White swiftly replied: “Well, that’s true.”

Whilst most top-class managers aren’t available for Rangers, that doesn’t excuse Martin’s awful start as the manager.

Martin’s style of play has come under intense criticism, with Rangers bossing 66 per cent of the ball against Hearts, yet failing to do anything with it.

The defence looks incredibly open, with John Souttar and Nasser Djiga so far apart, making it easy for teams to punish them on the counter-attack.

Martin seems to be set on his philosophy, but Rangers fans have already decided that the Southampton manager has done enough damage to the club.

Jose Mourinho linked with sensational Rangers move

Mourinho has been linked with a move to Rangers, having been sacked by Fenerbahce in August.

His defensive style of play and his entertaining press conferences would be brilliant for the reputation of Scottish football, but more importantly, brilliant for Rangers.

The polarising figure is a legend of the game, having won historic Champions League titles with Porto and Inter Milan.

Spells at Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United saw Mourinho have varying levels of success, but there is no doubt that he would be an incredible coup for Rangers.

Ibrox has seen some historic managers in the past, but Mourinho in charge would top the lot.
