Jason Cundy slams Ruben Amorim and Russell Martin as Rangers ‘flounder’
Russell Martin and Ruben Amorim are both under extreme pressure at Rangers and Manchester United, respectively.
The Gers extended their winless run in the league to five games as Hearts won 2-0 at Ibrox in the William Hill Premiership on 13 September.
Down south, the Manchester derby on 14 September saw Pep Guardiola’s team dominate the Red Devils in a 3-0 victory, leading to questions about the Portuguese boss’ future at Old Trafford.
Martin’s sacking at Ibrox seems inevitable after the Glaswegian outfit’s worst start to a league campaign in 47 years, and there may be some similarities with the Premier League giants.

Rangers and Manchester United struggling under their managers this season
Cundy looks baffled to see the Gers and Man United struggling towards the bottom of the table in their respective leagues.
The talkSPORT pundit saw Martin and Amorim’s post-match interviews after the losses on the weekend, and can’t believe they’re “floundering” this season.
Cundy seems surprised to see two of the biggest teams in England in the situation they are in under their respective managers.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 15 September, the former Chelsea defender said: “I watched [Amorim’s] interview and Martin’s, the pair of them, two of the biggest clubs in Britain, both of them floundering, floating around at the bottom of the table.”

Russell Martin sack on cards at Ibrox
Andrew Cavenagh has shown faith in Martin for now as he’s set to take charge of the Gers for the upcoming Premier Sports Cup tie against Hibernian on 20 September.
Despite the Light Blues hierarchy’s backing of the Scottish manager, his dismissal may be a matter of time at Ibrox.
The Ibrox faithful have lost patience with the former Southampton boss, and things will certainly get worse for him if the Glaswegian outfit lose to Hibs.
Manager | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
Amorim | 47 | 18 | 9 | 20 |
Martin | 12 | 3 | 5 | 4 |
Rangers fans may not turn up for the Hibernian game in numbers, with many supporters thinking of boycotting the game.
With the fans making their stance clear on the 39-year-old head coach and voting with their feet, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a change in the Gers’ dugout sooner rather than later.
Now that the atmosphere in G51 has turned toxic, it will undoubtedly affect the players and management alike.
