Rangers fans did ‘something not seen before’ to Russell Martin in loss vs Hearts
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have been given a clear indication of how Rangers fans feel about Russell Martin.
Hearts secured the three points at Ibrox on 13 September in the William Hill Premiership with a 2-0 victory, giving the US consortium much to think about.
While Cavenagh and the 49ers are still backing Martin, the overwhelming majority of the supporters in G51 arguably don’t.
Ally McCoist has been left devastated by the developments at Ibrox this season, calling the Scottish manager a fraud, and it looks like the fanbase have similar feelings.

Russell Martin booed onto pitch by Rangers fans before start of second half vs Hearts
Gordon Duncan isn’t sure whether he’s seen a manager get booed onto the pitch after the break by the home supporters.
The Sky Sports journalist revealed that the Ibrox faithful made their feelings known about Martin as he emerged from the tunnel for the second half against Derek McInnes’ team.
With the Light Blues a goal down at half-time, it isn’t surprising that the supporters in G51 weren’t pleased with their team’s performance.
Speaking on Sky Sports Scotland, Duncan said: “They were booed off in a really furious way at half-time. And then something I’m not quite sure I’ve ever seen before, Martin made changes at the break, he was booed back onto the touchline when he emerged from the tunnel for the start of the second half.”

Russell Martin sack inevitable at Ibrox
Martin may not have long left at Ibrox, with the former Southampton boss getting off to an unacceptable start at the Gers.
The Light Blues find themselves nine points off the top of the table after just five league matches, and it would arguably take a miracle for them to get back into the title race.
As things stand, the Light Blues are fighting to finish mid-table in the William Hill Premiership, and that’s the legacy the Scottish manager could potentially leave with.
- Martin has a 25 per cent win ratio at the Gers.
- The Light Blues have witnessed their worst start to a league campaign in 47 years.
- Under the Scottish manager, the Glaswegian outfit have kept just three clean sheets.
Rangers can’t wait any longer to sack Martin as things may get worse under him, with the prospect of a relegation battle not out of the question.
The supporters have already given their verdict on the 39-year-old head coach, and now it’s up to the hierarchy to take action.
Delaying Martin’s inevitable dismissal helps no one other than the Glaswegian outfit’s rivals, and fans will hope sanity prevails in G51 soon.
