Nicolas Raskin wanted in last-minute transfer after Rangers vs Hearts omission

Rangers could potentially sell Nicolas Raskin in the coming hours after he was left out of the Rangers squad to face Hearts on Saturday.

The Belgian international seems to have had a falling out with Russell Martin at the Gers, and fans in G51 face a nervous wait ahead of the games against the Jambos on 13 September.

Raskin has returned to training at Auchenhowie after scoring his first goal for the Red Devils against Kazakhstan on 7 September, but the midfielder won’t be a part of the Light Blues’ squad once again after missing the Celtic tie.

Martin has put himself under extreme pressure at Ibrox, and the 24-year-old’s departure will surely turn more supporters against him.

Fenerbahce and Besiktas battle for Nicolas Raskin transfer from Rangers

Fenerbahce and Besiktas have both expressed interest in Raskin, according to Sozcu.

The news outlet reports on 12 September that the midfielder is wanted by Domenico Tedesco, who was recently hired at the Chobani Stadium after Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin has also requested the Belgian midfielder’s arrival from Ibrox to the Istanbul club ahead of the Turkish transfer deadline just before midnight at local time on 12 September.

With the two Super Lig outfits battling against each other for Raskin’s signature, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.

Russell Martin should be sacked before Nicolas Raskin is sold

Raskin is one of the best assets at Ibrox, and it wouldn’t make sense to sell him for a manager who hasn’t proven his worth since being appointed.

The Belgium international has arguably been playing out of his best position under the new management, and it doesn’t look like the former Southampton boss has learnt from his mistakes.

Martin has created his own problems by playing Joe Rothwell in the number six position instead of the ex-Standard Liege star, who was undoubtedly the Glaswegian outfit’s best player last season.

Kevin Thelwell now has a major decision to make at Rangers, and it feels like a no-brainer to keep hold of Raskin after how the current campaign has started.

It’s clear that Martin can’t bring the best out of the players at Ibrox, and he should be sacked before the midfielder is sold.

Fans in G51 could potentially revolt against Hearts if Raskin moves to Turkey.
