Kevin Thelwell has biggest Rangers transfer dilemma yet, decision must be made imminently
Kevin Thelwell has had a tough start to his career as Rangers’ sporting director
The Englishman was brought in to help rebuild the squad and get them back competing at the highest level.
Thelwell’s hiring of manager Russell Martin already appears to be a mistake, with the club having had a woeful start to the season.
Rangers have made some gambles in the transfer market, and pressure around the Englishman could rise if things aren’t turned around quickly.
Thelwell now faces a massive decision regarding one of his players, as a deadline in Europe looms.

Kevin Thelwell must decide on Nicolas Raskin quickly
Nicolas Raskin’s feud with Martin has been brewing in the background for quite some time.
Thelwell was initially inclined to keep the Belgian in the squad, but new developments could see the midfielder depart Ibrox.
Reports in Turkey indicate that both Fenerbahce and Besiktas are planning late moves for Raskin ahead of the transfer deadline.
It is claimed that both clubs are keen on the Rangers midfielder and will be pushing for his signature before the close of business.
The transfer window in Turkey closes at midnight on September 12, meaning Rangers must decide quickly on Raskin’s future.
Raskin was in form for Belgium during the international break, and could command a decent fee from one of the Turkish giants.

Rangers should cash in on wantaway Raskin
Raskin’s future looks to be away from Ibrox, whether that be now or in January.
Rangers would be smart to take one of the offers from Turkey and accept a hefty transfer fee for the Belgian.
If Raskin were to remain with the squad, he would be an unhappy presence, and his value could diminish between now and January.
- Raskin joined Rangers for £1.32m from Standard Liege.
- The midfielder made 48 appearances for the Light Blues last season, providing 11 assists.
- The Belgian star’s current contract at Ibrox expires in 2027.
Raskin’s dispute with Martin does not seem to be coming to an end, and Thelwell would be wise to act quickly to resolve it.
While the Belgian’s quality is undeniable, letting him move on would be a smart bit of business.
