Djeidi Gassama specifically requests that Rangers don’t post about him on social media
Djeidi Gassama has enjoyed a good start to his career at Rangers
The Frenchman came to Ibrox from Sheffield Wednesday during the summer in a deal worth a reported £2.2million.
Gassama has been a bargain for Rangers, who saw a lot of squad turnover during the transfer window.
Rangers fans saw Gassama’s quality in Europe earlier this campaign, scoring four goals in the ties against Viktoria Plzen and Panathinaikos.
While this form hasn’t translated domestically yet, there is no doubt the Frenchman will soon get off the mark in the Scottish Premiership.

Djeidi Gassama has unusual request for Rangers’ social media
Gassama celebrated his 22nd birthday on Wednesday, September 10, and Rangers fans noticed something strange on the club’s social channels.
Supporters were quick to point out that there was no birthday post by Rangers across their social media channels.
According to the Heart & Hand Podcast, this was planned as per a request by the player.
David Edgar, who runs the podcast, said: “Had a few emails and DM’s about the club not wishing Djiedi Gassama happy birthday today.”
However, this had always been the plan, as Gassama had requested the club not to post about his birthday.
Edgar added: “Asked them, and it’s at the player’s request. So pitchforks down.”

Russell Martin will need more quality from Djeidi Gassama
Rangers will need more of their signings to emulate Gassama if they are to kickstart their season.
Russell Martin is already under pressure after a tough start and has yet to win a game in the league.
While Gassama has been impressive, Martin will feel let down by some of the summer signings.
Max Aarons has really struggled in a Rangers shirt, while the likes of Joe Rothwell and Mikey Moore have been so far uninspiring.
If Gassama can bring his European form to the Scottish Premiership, it may help turn Rangers’ season around.
