Rangers fans to be worried about what David Moyes did with Youssef Chermiti transfer
Rangers made former Everton striker Youssef Chermiti their second most expensive signing in the previous transfer window.
The 21-year-old completed a move to the Gers in a deal worth £10million, including add-ons, raising many eyebrows among fans in G51.
Kevin Thelwell has taken a major gamble with Chermiti at the Light Blues, and for his sake, the sporting director will hope the centre-forward turns out to be a success.
Bojan Miovski will be confident about being a starter at Ibrox, considering his experience with Aberdeen, leaving the Portugal Under-21 international with a lot to prove at the Glaswegian outfit.

David Moyes sold Youssef Chermiti to Rangers despite lack of depth at Everton
It wasn’t surprising to see Everton lap up a hefty sum for Chermiti after his struggles in Merseyside.
The striker joined the Toffees from Sporting CP in 2023 for £11.5m, and in his two seasons at Goodison Park, he scored zero goals for the first team.
David Moyes decided to part ways with the young forward despite only having Thierno Barry and Beto as his two options for the number nine position.
- Thelwell signed Chermiti at Everton.
- The striker didn’t score a single goal or provide an assist for the Toffees.
- Last season, the centre-forward made four Premier League appearances.
It looks like the Scottish manager didn’t even trust the Portuguese ace to be his third-choice striker this season, which will undoubtedly be a concern for the Ibrox faithful.
While Thelwell seems to have immense faith in Chermiti, the Light Blues could have potentially signed Abdallah Sima and Vaclav Cerny for around the same price in the summer.
The Gers certainly needed new number nines after Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers’ departures, but spending a significant amount on a player who played just 295 minutes of football for Everton’s senior side seems a bit overboard.

Bojan Miovski should start for Russell Martin vs Hearts
Miovski is evidently equipped to start against Hearts as he already possesses immense experience of the Scottish top flight from his time at Aberdeen.
Rangers fans expect the North Macedonia international to be their talisman in the current campaign despite the considerable outlay on Chermiti.
The Portuguese youngster will have to prove himself at Ibrox before fans in G51 embrace him.
With Martin under pressure to get positive results immediately at the Glaswegian outfit, it would be sensible to rely on Miovski instead of throwing the former Everton forward in the deep end.
