‘I like him’ – Bojan Miovski backed by former Celtic striker to outshine big-money star
Rangers have undergone a massive rebuild in the transfer window, as they look to turn their fortunes around under Russell Martin.
Rangers are winless in four Scottish Premiership games, and have made 13 additions to their first team.
The striker position was a huge topic throughout the summer, especially with the controversial departure of Hamza Igamane, and Cyriel Dessers’ exit on deadline day.
Bojan Miovski joined Rangers from Girona, making his return to Scotland after spending two years at Aberdeen.

Bojan Miovski’s could be a better signing than Youssef Chermiti
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show Podcast, former Celtic striker Andy Walker heaped praise on the North Macedonia international.
He said: “I think one of their best signings is Miovski; he knows all about the Scottish game.
“I like him, he’s a hard worker, he’s a good finisher, and I think he could get more goals than Chermiti, who’s come in for the big fee.
“He can be a better signing at that level than someone who has cost £8m.”
Rangers signed Chermiti for an £8m fee from Everton, yet Walker has full faith in Miovski to provide the goals that Rangers definitely need.
Miovski spent a prolific couple of years at Aberdeen, before earning a big move to Girona.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
2022/23 | 42 | 18 | 3 |
2023/24 | 53 | 26 | 4 |
Miovski’s £2.6m move to Ibrox seems like a smart piece of business on paper, and only time will tell whether he can become a success at G51.

Youssef Chermiti an expensive gamble for Rangers
Chermiti became the most expensive player to sign for Rangers for 25 years following his move from Everton.
The move has been scrutinised by fans due to Chermiti’s goalscoring record at previous clubs.
- Has scored three goals in 22 appearances for Sporting
- Has scored zero goals in 24 appearances for Everton
- Earns £8m move to Rangers
It’s a very questionable move and Rangers fans will be hoping they are proved wrong when expressing their doubts on the Portuguese international.
Martin will need the reliable Miovski and the unproven Chermiti to start well at Rangers, otherwise his sacking just becomes more inevitable.
