Rangers fans should ‘suck it up’ as Russell Martin sack claim emerges
Rangers may have already signalled their decision to back Russell Martin despite fan unrest at Ibrox.
The Gers have gotten off to their worst league start in 42 years after drawing the opening four games in the William Hill Premiership.
Kevin Thelwell has put his job on the line for Martin, reportedly threatening to quit from his role as sporting director in a recent meeting if the Scottish manager was dismissed.
Despite calls from a massive section of the Glaswegian outfit’s support to sack the 39-year-old head coach, they could potentially have to bear with him for a bit longer.

Russell Martin will not be sacked after Rangers transfer for Youssef Chermiti
It seems unlikely that the Gers will replace Martin in the coming weeks after backing him in the previous transfer window, Richard Foster says.
The former Scottish defender believes that Thelwell’s decision to spend £8million on Youssef Chermiti may indicate that he will be given more time.
Foster doesn’t expect the Light Blues to part ways with the former Southampton boss at Ibrox, even if he can’t win any of the next three games.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 3 September, the ex-defender said: “If you’re a Rangers fan and you’re unsure of Martin, then you probably just need to suck it up for the moment, as he’s going to be your manager.
“If he goes and draws his next three games or loses one of them or doesn’t win the next three, they’re not going to change the manager because you’re not going to let him spend £8m on one player and sack him one month later.”

Andrew Cavenagh has no-brainer decision at Ibrox
After what was witnessed against Club Brugge in the Champions League, Andrew Cavenagh should have pulled the plug on Martin’s tenure at the Gers.
The 9-1 loss on aggregate over two legs against the Belgian outfit was the Light Blues’ joint-worst defeat in Europe.
While the Bears managed to get a point at home against Celtic, the performance was nothing to cheer about.
- Martin has a 27 per cent win rate at the Gers.
- The Scottish manager has won just three of his 11 games in charge at the Light Blues.
- The Bears have conceded 17 goals this season.
Martin looks like a dead man walking at Rangers, and it would make sense to find his replacement sooner rather than later.
The voices from the terrace have evidently already given up on the Scottish manager, and it will be hard for him to come back from that.
Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are arguably only delaying the inevitable by keeping the ex-Saints boss in charge in G51.
