Clinton Nsiala exit still on at Rangers as ambitious European club now eye defender
Rangers may no longer be able to make any new signings, but that is not to say players cannot still leave Ibrox.
Clinton Nsiala is still expected to leave Rangers, with Belgium clubs Anderlecht, Zulte Waregem and KV Mechelen all interested in the 21-year-old.
Derek Cornelius’ arrival at Ibrox has pushed Nsiala further down the pecking order, and an exit now looks more likely than ever.
However, more clubs are entering the race to sign the young defender, with one ambitious European club particularly interested.

Move to Poland on the cards for Clinton Nsiala
UEFA reporter and journalist Piotr Kozminski, via Goal Poland, has said that ambitious Polish side Pogon – who recently signed Sam Greenwood from Leeds United among others – are interested in Nsiala.
“Our findings indicate that Pogoń is also looking for a left-footed center-back,” the report reads. “As we’ve learned, the trail leads to Scotland, specifically to Glasgow Rangers.
“According to our information, Clinton Nsiala is on Pogoń’s radar. He’s a 21-year-old Frenchman who began his career with FC Nantes.
“From there, he moved to Milan, playing for the U19 and U20 teams (reaching the semi-finals and final in the UEFA Youth League).”
Nsiala has not been given much game-time since his move to Ibrox, with his career set to take another turn.
- Joined Rangers on a pre-contract agreement ahead of the 2024/25 season
- Made 13 appearances in all competition for Rangers
- Now heavily linked with clubs in Belgium and Poland’s Pogon
A new development at Ibrox has further confirmed that Nsiala’s departure looks imminent, with Belgium and Poland’s transfer deadline falling on 8 September

Nsiala omitted from Europa League squad following Russell Martin’s announcement
Rangers have risen ticket prices for their Europa League matches, just before Martin announced their UEFA Europa League squad for the season.
As expected Nsiala was not included in the 24-man squad, further fuelling the expectation that he will leave before Poland and Belgium’s 8 September deadline.
Martin has faced extreme scrutiny since becoming the Rangers manager in the summer, and the club must start their Europa League campaign well.
With Martin on borrowed time, it’ll be interesting to see how much time he is afforded as Rangers manager.
